Hochalm hike Tourist Info Scheffau - Seebachgraben - Grübler Hof - Seestüberl - Walleralm - Wilder Kaiser Steig - Steiner Hochalm - Kaiser Hochalm - Wegscheid Hochalm - Jägerwirt - Village
Start at the church and after the church turn left on an asphalt road, pass the farms of Niederscheffau and Lindenhof until Cafe Rosemarie (hiking no 56). Continue on the right of the road and following the Seebach until a curve, at which a forest path branches off (with a barrier). This path leads along the wild and romantic Seebachgraben, at whose end a path on the left leads uphill through the forest and further through a meadow (hiking way no 43). At Grüblerhof farm, follow the road on the left till Seestüberl/ Hintersteinersee. At Seestüberl continue uphill on a path on the right, which merges in a forest path. Follow this until the Walleralm. Now keep to the right and hike on “Wilder Kaiser Steig” in the direction of Steiner Hochalm going on to Kaiser Hochalm. Continue the hike on the steep path till the branching of Wegscheid Hochalm, wehre the descent starts via Wegscheid-Niederalm, by taking a forest path you reach back the centre via the Jägerwirt inn. Hohe Salve in Söll The most magnificent view of the Wilder Kaiser can be enjoyed from the top of the Hohe Salve at 1,829 metres over Söll.
The panoramic setting of one of Tyrol's loveliest panoramic mountains is a mountain experience in itself. If you have already made it to the Hexenwasser, it would be a real shame to miss out on the summit, where the talking Salven giant welcomes you as you arrive at the top station. By the way, the name "Salve" means "be greeted" in Latin! A fascinating path circles around the peak, the 15 points along the Sonnenuhrenweg (Sundial path) enthral with information about the history of time measurement and the sun's position at various times of the day and year. You start your hike at the parking area in Söll and follow the hiking way no 52/50 to the top of the Hohe Salve. Hiking time approx 5-6 hours - medium walk
Copper beech way (Ellmau - Hintersteiner lake) Medium hike to the Hintersteiner lake with some lovely farms
Start your hike at the hotel and walk in the direction of Kaiserbad. From there you walk via „Biedring“ and „Koglern“ to the Haflingertränke. Above the „Haflingertränke“ you turn left into the wood and walk in direction Scheffau.
You pass lovely meadows and misterious woods, ancient farm houses like „Schiessling“ and „Steiner“ and reach the „Gasthof Bärnstatt“. Follow the public road to reach the „Seestüberl“ (lake restaurant) at the Hintersteiner lake. Hiking time approx. 3 1/2 hours - medium hike Our tipp: Take the lake bus to the centre of Scheffau and than with the Kaiserjet back to Ellmau.
Greilweg (Ellmau - Greil) Amazing walk with a breathtaking view at the Wilder Kaiser mountain
The „Greilweg“ starts in the village centre, you pass the church and walk the street up next to the church, pass the „Kirchbichlhof“ and the „Gasthof Schönblick“, the farm houses „Egg“ and „Witzl“ until you finally reach the „Greilbauer” (Greil-farmer).
