With almost 400 inhabitants, Rattenberg is the smallest city in Austria. The medieval pedestrian zone is dominated by the unique show craft of the numerous glass companies. The Augustinian monastery is home to one of the leading museums in Tyrol. With the annual Schlossberg games and the authentic Rattenberger Advent, the town is rightly the cultural center of the region. The historic center is built in the Inn-Salzach style and is now a pedestrian zone. Here the Südtiroler Strasse forms the busiest part of the traffic-free zone. The Inn cycle path also leads directly past Rattenberg, a detour to the center is definitely worth it.

The blacksmith Hans Guggenberger from Kramsach has compiled a unique collection of epitaphs and martyrdom slogans in this "Funny Cemetery Without Dead", which shows how cleverly the vernacular sometimes combined grief and humor.
