Geocaching is a new high-tech treasure hunt and many adventurous people who have GPS units search for geocaches in Westendorf. Geocachers look for hidden containers – geocaches - in the unique natural surroundings in the mountains in Westendorf; they then endeavour to solve the puzzles in them. Only those people who find out the next coordinates will reach the final stash!
Westendorf's tourist office offer a GPS device hire service for all geocaching enthusiasts. Available is the "eTrex H" by Garmin, our standard model.
The hire fee per device and per day: € 7,00
In addition a deposit of € 50,00 and a copy of official identification / passport, is required.
Geocaching-Angebot im Brixental
Den Gästen wird durch ausführliche Touren- und Niveaubeschreibungen die Möglichkeit geboten, sich ihre Lieblings-Route niveaugerecht auszusuchen. Auf den einfachen bis anspruchsvollen Wanderungen zeigt sich Westendorf dabei von seiner schönsten Seite. Gegen eine Leihgebühr von sieben Euro können die dafür notwendigen GPS-Geräte im Tourismusbüro Westendorf ausgeliehen werden.
